Frequently Asked Questions

What is Jellybeans?
Jellybeans is a private business offering half and full day programs for primary school aged children. We run our programs within the school grounds on pupil free days. We also offer incursions, and will run themed birthday parties on request. We focus on providing instruction predominantly in arts and crafts.

Why choose Jellybeans?
Jellybeans is passionate about igniting the imaginations of young children through art and craft. Our focus is on guiding the children to imagine, design and create their own masterpieces.
Research has shown that fostering creativity won't just increase your child's chances of becoming the next Picasso. You're also helping them develop mentally, socially, and emotionally. Creating art may boost young children's ability to analyse and problem-solve in a myriad of ways, according to Mary Ann F. Kohl, author of Primary Art: It's the Process, Not the Product. As children manipulate a paintbrush, their fine motor skills improve. By counting pieces and colours, they learn the basics of math. When children experiment with materials, they dabble in science. Most importantly perhaps, when children feel good while they are creating art, it helps boost their self confidence. And children who feel able to experiment and to make mistakes feel free to invent new ways of thinking, which extends well beyond the Jellybeans program.

What are the ratios of supervisors to children?
To allow our participants to experience everything our program has to offer we keep our ratios well below the recommended number. When able we aim to have a ratio of 2:15.

Where are the Jellybeans programs held?
Our programs are usually held within the school premises of where your children are attending. You will be informed of the exact location upon booking.

What does my child need to bring to a half and/or full day program?
We ask that you please pack a hat, water bottle and light lunch. Please don't send your child with any electronics or toys from home. Jellybeans will provide everything your child needs to have a fun-filled and enjoyable day.

Is Jellybeans run through my child's school?
Jellybeans is a private business that partners with schools. So in a nutshell, no we are not run through your child's school.
